Recommended Packing List

• One outfit for use prior to and after the safari
• Four shirts, two long sleeve and two short sleeve
• One or two pairs shorts
• Two or three pairs long pants
• Sweat suit or comfortable clothes for evening wear
• Warm jacket and sweater
• Well-worn comfortable hunting shoes
  
• Woolen socks or Smart Wool, and sock liners
  
• Leather gloves(for thorns)
  
• Hat
  
• Any medical prescriptions and (favorite cold medicine - recommended)
  
• Chapstick
  
• Shaving and cosmetic kit
  
• Binoculars (8X30 to 10X40)
  
• Camera, flash and film
  
• 220 to 110 volt converter (for video camera etc.)
  
• Flashlight
  
• Sun protection lotion and sunglasses
  
• Firearms and ammunition and cleaning kit(include little detailing brush for sand)
  
• Leather belt and ammunition pouch and knife(not needed but recommended)
  
• Thermal underwear
  
• One down or heavy jacket
  
• Watch Cap
  
• Raincoat or waterproof jacket
  
• One pair running shoes

Clothing

In all camps laundry is done daily - so unless adverse weather is experienced, or on transfer days you can expect clean, ironed clothes daily. For this reason it is best to pack lightly. The recommended packing list is sufficient for all our camps and areas. Stay away from delicate fabrics - rather select soft, comfortable clothes in neutral colors, khaki or olive-drab green in tough rip-stop fabric. Camoflauge is permitted in most areas now, however be sure to check up on this prior to packing. Boots should be well worn, soft and comfortable. Soft rubber soles are best for stalking and tennis shoes are good for wearing around the camp in the evenings.  Do not forget any personal prescription medications, sunscreen, chapstick and a hat. A warm jacket, gloves and sweaters are also essential and should your safari include one of our desert concessions, thermal underwear and thick woolen socks are recommended.
